The 2241-2RK Emergency Kit packages all the basic radiation measurement tools you’re likely to need to handle a radiological emergency into a convenient carrying case to facilitate a quick response when required. The kit includes Ludlum’s digital, auto-ranging, and versatile Model 2241-2 Ratemeter/Scaler that can measure exposure, contamination, and samples. Responders can either plug in the alpha beta gamma GM pancake probe (Model 44-9) for contamination measurements and measuring samples or the (Model 44-2) high-sensitivity gamma scintillator for locating the source of the high readings. A locked toggle switch selects the correct set of operating parameters for detector presently connected to the instrument to optimize the measurement. A137Cs check source is included to verify proper operation of the instruments along with a check source holder for convenient and secure accessibility. The rugged carrying case supplied with the kit is air and water tight with cutouts for each device for secure transport and storage, and has padlockable hasps for further security.
